Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Orem, Utah. My clinical focus is couple and family relationships, individuals struggling with depression or anxiety, and helping men and women overcome pornography and sexual addiction and its affects on the family.
I worked as a youth counselor at Heritage residential treatment center from 2008 until 2010. There I was privileged to work with at-risk youth ages 12-18 who experienced various behavioral and psychological issues. I was responsible in building relationships of trust with them as well as prepare and assist them to develop healthy relationships with their friends and families. Since 2011, I has been working as a therapist focused on couple and marital relations, parent-child relations, and sexual addiction.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Human Development from Brigham Young University in 2010. I then pursued a Masters of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University in San Diego in 2012. While in graduate school, I conducted therapy with couples and individuals of various cultural and ethnic backgrounds. I also facilitated group therapy sessions with clients involved in domestic violence. Following graduation from Alliant, I returned to Utah and entered into a private practice.
I am very passionate about my work and very eager to help those who are struggling personally or in their relationships. I firmly believe that a majority of people’s problems stem from troubled relationships such as attachment injuries with parents, peers, siblings, and intimate partners. When I am with clients, I look for relationship dynamics surrounding each individual within a system and the impact each has on the other.
Who I Am
I have spent most of my life in Utah and currently reside there with my wife and my three daughters. Besides my religious beliefs, my greatest passion is my family. I look forward to spending time with them after work. I am an avid golfer and when I am not working or spending time with my family you can find me working on my golf swing.
